June Vocations Update: Archdiocese of Detroit

Thursday, June 06, 2013

Congratulations to our newly ordained priests: Fr. Marko Djonovic (assigned to St. Joseph, Lake Orion), Fr. Patrick Gonyeau (assigned to National Shrine of the Little Flower) and to Fr. James Grau (assigned to Holy Name, Birmingham for the summer and will be returning to Rome for Graduate Studies at the Angelicum in September).

VOCATIONS CONVOCATION - SAVE THE DATE!!! Saturday, September 14, 2013As the Year of Faith comes to a close, we’ve decided to do something different -  at our Vocations Convocation we will spend time in prayer for vocations before the Blessed Sacrament at the Cathedral.  More information to come.

The Office of Priestly Vocations has admitted 7 new men for formation for the coming academic year.  We may have a few more admissions before September.  Keep praying for men to answer the call!

SEMINARY DAY FOR ALTAR BOYS – see the attached flyer.  This is to introduce young men 8th grade and older who have served as Altar Boys to the vocation of the priesthood.  Almost 75% of all newly ordained priests have been altar boys.  Please encourage your parish, family or friends to invite a number of altar boys to attend.  Registration is online at www.detroitpriest.com. We invited the religious women of the AOD to host a similar day for altar girls for this year, but it did not fit into their schedules; hopefully this will happen in the future.
