Dominican Nuns in Marbury, Alabama Host "Come & See" Weekend

Monday, April 18, 2016

The cloistered Dominican nuns in Marbury, Alabama are holding a Vocation Retreat on the weekend of June 3-5, 2016 for young women age 16-27. Retreatants learn about the nuns' contemplative life of praise and intercession at the heart of the apostolic preaching of the Dominican Order for the salvation of souls, join in chanting the Divine Office in Latin and English, and share in the nuns' special devotion to Eucharistic Adoration and Perpetual Rosary.

While their community does not have exclusive use of the 1962 liturgy, they hold the liturgical tradition of the Church and of the Dominican Order in great esteem. The nuns welcome celebrations of the Holy Mass in the Extraordinary Form and the Dominican Rite when possible, and retain a good deal of Dominican Latin chant in their daily Office.
